TOMORROW’S TRENDS

By Katherine Arteche

Returning once again with a curation of the world’s most prestigious watch and jewellery brands, the annual Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show will run for eight days from March 23 to 30 in Basel next year.

Last year, the event saw more than 145,000 visitors in attendance from over 100 countries. Come next Spring, the exhibition is expected to continue serving its growing number of participants and spectators, setting the benchmark once again with the latest trends in watches and jewellery. Approximately 1,500 brands participated in last year’s edition, presenting a spectrum of watches, jewellery, precious stones, and supplies to cater to both trade industry players and consumers alike. As the tradition holds, the show is set to deliver more surprises, unveil new collections, and showcase trendsetting innovations and creations through first-hand experiences.

Taking a cue from the success of last year’s BaselWorld, Benedict Sin, Chairman of the Jewellery Advisory Committee for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), acknowledges the value in the annual exhibition: “Baselworld is the world’s marketplace for the jewellery and watch industry, one that has tremendously evolved and maintained the highest quality standards.”

For both seasoned and new visitors, BaselWorld 2017 awaits with impressive pavilions and continues to open its doors for yet another remarkable show.
